Iowa Deafblind Project Summer Symposium 2023
Let’s Work Together to Communicate!
When: June 7-9, 2023
Zoom Session on June 7, 2023, from 9am-12pm
In-Person Sessions June 8-9, 2023
Individuals wishing to receive a certification of completion, license renewal credit, or graduate credit, must attend ALL sessions. This includes the Zoom session. Additional out of class assignments will be required for graduate credit.
Where: Heartland AEA – Ames Office, Aspen Business Park, 511 S 17th Street, Ames
Targeted Audience: IEP and IFSP teams of students who are deafblind and their parents. Teams are encouraged, but not required to attend together.
Cost: $10 (Collected at time of registration, does not include cost of credit).
Graduate credit and licensure renewal credit will be available. The Iowa Deafblind Project will offer tuition reimbursement to those who serve students on the Iowa Deafblind Registry. Requests for credit reimbursement will be limited.

9am- 12pm: Hand Under Hand Facilitation for Improved Outcomes
Presented by Kate Beals, Occupational Therapist
Learn how the use of the hand under hand technique leads to improved outcomes and how research supports the use of hand under hand facilitation.
June 8-9, 2023 8:30-4pm
Lunch will be from 12pm-1pm each day. Lunch will be on your own.
