When: November 13-14, 2020, and December 5, 2020.
Time: 9 am-3 pm (2.5-hour sessions with a 1-hour lunch break).
Where: Sessions will take place over Zoom.

Focus: Teams will be provided with a copy of Total Life Learning: Preparing for Transition. A Curriculum for All
Students with Sensory Impairments. Sessions will focus on the importance of transition planning, how to use
information from assessments to plan, and the development of transition portfolios. To learn more about
transition portfolios Click Here. By the end of the 3 sessions, teams will have gathered assessment data related
to transition, developed a vision statement, and begun a transition portfolio.
Targeted Audience: Teams of students who are Deafblind and of transition-age or close to transition age. In
Iowa we consider this age 14. Teams who wish to have an early start in transition planning are also welcome
to attend. Individuals are also welcome to attend without a team, but be prepared to have a target student in
mind. The team should consider including parents and Iowa Department for the Blind counselors in this
$300 stipends will be available to those who serve students on the deafblind registry. Attendance at all 3
sessions are required for a stipend. . Additional information on how to receive the stipend will be provided following
Graduate credit will be available. The Iowa Deafblind Project will offer tuition reimbursement to those who
serve students on the deafblind registry.
